In class we discussed this quote by Nietzsche. A few points on him not discussed was he was a "rebel against Christianity". He stated that "In truth, there was only one Christian, and he died on the cross". He concludes that its one immortal blemish of mankind.
Nietzsche notes:
-passion and control. No conscious at birth but at Buddhism.
-compassion: life is suffering, returns to help others
-primal will-choice "you choose to be born" will to survive
-Plato: "forms in our mind, but loses it"
-human being has a choice at birth
-child's will-individual self acclimation, acceptance for oneself. Decisions "I'll win myself to..."
-cannot isolate the will. Automatic cannot control or process
-what motivates us? Will us to action?
-affirmation and doubt living with our consequences
- alarm clock is the test-the will
- "creation and destruction" why is that the primal will? Life and death
-sensory needs- death is walking next to us, Celebrate the chance you have to live
-consciousness arises out of necessary requirement. Understanding the power struggles. Chaos that is man.
-what is everyone seeking? Elevation either master or slave
-creative class now-those who run society incorporates who has a position in society or the "elites"
-Power=every relation we have, interaction. Seek in elevated position. Out achieve in other humans. Will to gain power in all situations.
- Will as motivated by power. Done almost all the time unconsciously
-Take over other societies by any means such as economically, politically, etc.
-all things in nature competing for sunlight. Animals for resources and foods.
-Existence of will-compete with all living things and dominance
